Titanic Gallery
Client: Southampton City Council
Project: Southampton’s Titanic Story, Heritage Lottery funded
Collaborators: Urban Salon (Design), Newangle Productions (Media), Woods McGrath (Graphics), Paragon (Interactives)
Southampton wanted to tell the story of the hundreds of its citizens who worked aboard the Titanic and lost their lives in the disaster.
Drawing on decades of public history research, TGAC developed the content of the Southampton’s Titanic Story gallery as well as briefing all graphics, media and interactivity.
We wrote all gallery text, focusing on the details of individual lives and using the continuous present tense to give immediacy and drama, creating a unique voice for the gallery itself.
The result is a hugely popular gallery that draws visitors into a powerful narrativethat they can can empathise with and understand.
