TGAC helped to masterplan this new art centre in the heart of Valletta. Our vision broke new ground as an integrated urban project in a place of major historic importance, recreated with a bold carbon neutral vision.
A people centred, free-to-enter extension of the street, it combined art gallery with cafe, retail, changing displays, touring exhibitions, performance and programming. Digital interpretation was integrated throughout the plan.
The concept linked inspiration, art and identity where art is displayed in 360° integration with the building. The second storey offered study, meeting and presentations spaces, with an art library, archive and conservation labs.
Our scheme reached the final shortlist of the competition
