Client: Design Museum, London
Project: Permanent Collection Displays, Interpretation Toolkit, Heritage Lottery funded
Collaborators: Studio Myerscough (Design), John Pawson (Architect), Design Museum team
In 2016 Design Museum moves to a new site in Kensington. This involves a complete redisplay of the permanent collection and an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions.
TGAC is developing and helping to implement an 'Interpretation Toolkit ' for the museum to deliver on its interpretive plan, audio-visual and digital and learning strategies.
The Toolkit consists of templates and action plans for developing exhibition content and sharing outcomes. We created a temporary exhibition in the existing museum, the Collections Lab, to evaluate new text and ideas, and the interpretation approach.
We are now working with curators to develop the Permanent Collections Displays with a new relevant and authoritative ‘voice‘ and effective use of text, objects, interactivity and media.
